We offer Amiyya, Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA), Fusha, Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and or a basic Survival Phrases courses. All our courses are specially designed depending on the student and their needs. Students, may take a short intensive course, get private tutoring, incorporate cultural learning or focus maily on speaking if preferred.

We can set a schedule to accommodate your availability if you are looking for a specific program.U-Can’s has created their own books and curriculum for the Amiyya courses.  These books give students relevant grammar and phrases that they can use right away. As students progress in their language the lesson books, phrases and grammar help them to develop a well rounded ability to converse with Arab speakers in a flexible and comfortable manner.

A placement test will be given if you have any prior Arabic language training, so that we may best asses what level course to place you in.

Our Amiyya (ECA) courses are categorized according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) descriptions.

54 hrs* – Basic communication, simple sentences

– Know and use past & present tense verbs

– Able to read and write in Arabic

Level 3
36 hrs* – Understands basic grammatical structure, building vocabulary

– Can communicate simply yet effectively

– Community based learning

Level 4
Early Intermediate
36 hrs* – Can use language in familiar situations and daily activities
evels 5 & 6
36 hrs/per level* – Can use language consitently and appropriately

– Able to ask questions and respond in informal situations

Levels 7, 8 & 9
Early Advanced
6 hrs/per
– Able to describe, complain, apologize, compare, summarize and give advice
Levels 10, 11 & 12
36 hrs/ per
– Has good command of the language

– Fluent, accurate and well organized in communicating

– Is understood without difficulty by speakers unaccustomed to dealing with non-native speakers

* Hours needed to complete each level and the book for that level. More hours may be added depending on students lesson preferences.
