What inspired you to start studying Arabic?
I was inspired to learn Arabic, because of the refugees from different countries I was working with in Germany. I wanted to learn more about the culture and of course Arabic, this language fascinated me and I was happy that I got the opportunity to learn at UCAN Cairo.

What has your experience been like at UCAN?

I experienced a very welcoming, motivated and passionate staff. Our teacher Peter was doing his best to teach us in a very creative and interesting way!

Tell us one of your favorite experiences or memories at UCAN? Every lesson started with a very funny and sometimes crazy warm-up, so it was afterwards easy for us to concentrate. Our teacher also became a friend with whom we could share also our questions we had in a new culture in our daily life. I loved the little dialogues we made to practice our Arabic and even sometimes filmed it, so we could realise how much we have learned - to watch this little acting clips afterwards was very funny.

How has this program impacted your daily life or career?
Work with refugees: Even the little dialogues I could have was a door opener to people's heart.

What would you tell someone who is considering studying at UCAN? What should other potential students know?
Be patient with you! Learning Arabic needs time and your patience.
