Gameela Shares Her Story Learning Arabic While Living in Egypt

“The teachers will go as fast or as slow as you like and really help you to start speaking!”

What inspired you to start studying Arabic?
I started studying Arabic because I want to speak to people about the Bible and because Egyptians have a real respect for God.

What has your experience been like at UCAN?
My experience at UCAN has been great! The teachers will go as fast or as slow as you like and really help you to start speaking!

Tell us one of your favorite experiences or memories at UCAN?
I really enjoy the games that we play to use the language!

How has this program impacted your daily life or career?
This program has given me a detailed and structured overview of Arabic that would have been hard to gain on my own and made me more accountable than before.

What would you tell someone who is considering studying at UCAN? What should other potential students know?
They should know that unless you are a polyglot and very self motivated, it's very useful to take courses to get you started and give you a foundation. Naturally you will learn more with time but initially classes really help.
